Four steps in one narrow fitting. A single pale pine back rail 40cm tall is fixed diagonally to the wall and carries four paddle-shaped steps, 22cm across overall. The top of each step is wound in natural sisal rope for grip on landing, and its outer end finishes in a smooth rounded pine nose. It turns a slim strip of wall into a way up.

Fitting and weight guidance
- In the box: the piece, mounting screws and a fitting diagram. Wall plugs for your wall type are not included.
- Solid walls (brick or block): drill 6mm, fit standard wall plugs, drive the included screws through every hole in the wall plate.
- Plasterboard: screw into a timber stud wherever you can (use a stud finder). Where there is no stud behind the fixing, use heavy-duty plasterboard anchors rated to 15kg or more per fixing, such as metal self-drill or toggle anchors.
- Weight: designed for adult domestic cats, typically 3 to 6kg. For cats over 7kg, or for any piece a cat will land on from a jump, fix into a stud or masonry rather than plasterboard alone.
- Use a spirit level, and check every fixing is tight before the first climb.
Will it fit?
- Your wall: check the width along the wall and how far the piece sticks out (under Specifications) against the clear space you have.
- Spacing: about 30cm between steps suits most adult cats; go closer for kittens and older cats.
- Wall type: 6mm plugs for brick or block, a stud or heavy-duty anchors for plasterboard.
- Your cat: designed for adult cats of 3 to 6kg; over 7kg, fix into a stud or masonry.

Up in four easy moves
Your cat takes the steps one at a time as they descend in a stepped column. The woven sisal matting gives a claw something to catch as each paw lands.
One fitting, very little wall
The whole staircase hangs from a single 40cm pale pine back rail and stands 22cm proud, so it suits a narrow run of wall beside a door or on a chimney breast. Pale pine and natural sisal, the usual Castle Catalogue restraint.
Pine rail, sisal tread, pine lip
Each rectangular step is carried on the pale pine back rail and topped with a panel of woven natural sisal matting. A small rounded pine lip finishes the outer edge of every tread.

Made to live with, not just look at.
Every piece in the Castle Catalogue range is chosen for how it behaves in a real room. Honest materials, quiet colour and shapes that still work when the seasons change.
We keep the range tight on purpose, so you are choosing between a few good options rather than scrolling through thousands.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much wall does it need?
A single pale pine back rail 40cm tall, with an overall projection of 22cm. All four steps hang from that one rail.
What are the steps topped with?
A panel of woven natural sisal matting on each tread. It gives claws something to grip the moment the cat lands.
How does it fix to the wall, and what weight will it take?
It mounts to the wall with the included screws through the holes in the wall plate. Into brick or block, use standard wall plugs. Into plasterboard, screw into a stud where you can, or use heavy-duty plasterboard anchors rated to 15kg or more. It is designed for adult cats of around 3 to 6kg; for a heavier cat, fix into a stud or masonry.
How is it fixed to the wall?
The pale pine back rail mounts to the wall with the included screws. Fix into a stud where you can, or use wall plugs suited to your wall type.
How do I clean the sisal matting?
Vacuum the matting with a brush head and lift loose fur off with a damp cloth. The pale pine wipes clean and dries quickly.
