Two steps, so it is a route rather than a perch. Each shelf is pale pine, about 22.5cm by 19.5cm, sitting on a solid triangular pale pine bracket 16.2cm deep. Mount them staggered, one above the other, and a cat has a climb from floor level to height in two easy moves. It is the smallest footprint in the range, which makes it the easiest to fit onto a wall that is already busy.

Fitting and weight guidance
- In the box: the piece, mounting screws and a fitting diagram. Wall plugs for your wall type are not included.
- Solid walls (brick or block): drill 6mm, fit standard wall plugs, drive the included screws through every hole in the wall plate.
- Plasterboard: screw into a timber stud wherever you can (use a stud finder). Where there is no stud behind the fixing, use heavy-duty plasterboard anchors rated to 15kg or more per fixing, such as metal self-drill or toggle anchors.
- Weight: designed for adult domestic cats, typically 3 to 6kg. For cats over 7kg, or for any piece a cat will land on from a jump, fix into a stud or masonry rather than plasterboard alone.
- Use a spirit level, and check every fixing is tight before the first climb.
Will it fit?
- Your wall: check the width along the wall and how far the piece sticks out (under Specifications) against the clear space you have.
- Spacing: about 30cm between steps suits most adult cats; go closer for kittens and older cats.
- Wall type: 6mm plugs for brick or block, a stud or heavy-duty anchors for plasterboard.
- Your cat: designed for adult cats of 3 to 6kg; over 7kg, fix into a stud or masonry.

Up in two moves
Mounted staggered, the pair gives a cat a first step and a second, which is all most cats need to reach height. Each shelf is sized to be passed through rather than settled on.
For walls that are already busy
At roughly 22.5cm by 19.5cm these are the smallest pieces Castle Catalogue makes for the wall, so they slot in beside a door, above a radiator or between existing shelves.
Timber brackets, not metal
Each step sits on a solid triangular pale pine bracket 16.2cm deep, cut from the same pale timber as the shelf above it. Two matching steps means the climb looks like one piece of joinery.

Made to live with, not just look at.
Every piece in the Castle Catalogue range is chosen for how it behaves in a real room. Honest materials, quiet colour and shapes that still work when the seasons change.
We keep the range tight on purpose, so you are choosing between a few good options rather than scrolling through thousands.
Frequently Asked Questions
How big is each step?
Each shelf measures about 22.5cm by 19.5cm, with a triangular bracket 16.2cm deep beneath it. Small enough to tuck into a tight wall, large enough for a cat to place all four paws.
How many steps do I get?
Two. They are sold as a set so you have a route rather than a single perch, and both steps match exactly.
How does it fix to the wall, and what weight will it take?
It mounts to the wall with the included screws through the holes in the wall plate. Into brick or block, use standard wall plugs. Into plasterboard, screw into a stud where you can, or use heavy-duty plasterboard anchors rated to 15kg or more. It is designed for adult cats of around 3 to 6kg; for a heavier cat, fix into a stud or masonry.
How far apart should I mount them?
Mount them staggered, one above the other, at a spacing your cat can step rather than leap. Kittens and older cats do better with the two set closer together.
What is the finish like to clean?
Both steps are pale pine, so a barely damp cloth and a dry wipe is all they need. There is very little surface area to collect fur.
