One vertical fitting that does the work of three. A 77.5cm column wrapped in natural sisal rope runs between two pale pine wall plates, each cut in a rounded cat-head silhouette with two pointed ears. A small flat pine step sits in front of each plate, and a round pine perch platform 23.5cm across is fixed to the column at mid height. Your cat scratches, climbs and then settles, all on the same stretch of wall.

Fitting and weight guidance
  • In the box: the piece, mounting screws and a fitting diagram. Wall plugs for your wall type are not included.
  • Solid walls (brick or block): drill 6mm, fit standard wall plugs, drive the included screws through every hole in the wall plate.
  • Plasterboard: screw into a timber stud wherever you can (use a stud finder). Where there is no stud behind the fixing, use heavy-duty plasterboard anchors rated to 15kg or more per fixing, such as metal self-drill or toggle anchors.
  • Weight: designed for adult domestic cats, typically 3 to 6kg. For cats over 7kg, or for any piece a cat will land on from a jump, fix into a stud or masonry rather than plasterboard alone.
  • Use a spirit level, and check every fixing is tight before the first climb.
Will it fit?
  • Your wall: check the width along the wall and how far the piece sticks out (under Specifications) against the clear space you have.
  • Spacing: about 30cm between steps suits most adult cats; go closer for kittens and older cats.
  • Wall type: 6mm plugs for brick or block, a stud or heavy-duty anchors for plasterboard.
  • Your cat: designed for adult cats of 3 to 6kg; over 7kg, fix into a stud or masonry.

Cat Wall Climbing Post 77cm - in use

Scratch, climb, then settle

The sisal column runs the full 77.5cm, so an adult cat can reach up and scratch at full stretch. The two steps and the round perch turn the same fitting into a route up the wall and a place to stop.

Cat Wall Climbing Post 77cm - in the home

A shape that earns its wall space

The wall plates are cut as rounded cat heads with two pointed ears, quiet character in pale pine rather than a slab of carpet. Castle Catalogue keeps the palette light so it sits with a modern room.

Cat Wall Climbing Post 77cm - material detail

Natural sisal on pale pine

The column is wrapped in natural sisal rope, the surface cats reach for when they want to scratch properly. Plates, steps and the 23.5cm perch are cut from the same pale pine, so the fitting matches through.

Frequently Asked Questions

How tall is it?

77.5cm in total, with the round perch fixed to the column at mid height. That gives an adult cat a genuine upward stretch on the sisal.

What is the scratching surface?

Natural sisal rope, wrapped around the vertical column. Cats reliably choose sisal over soft fabric when they want to scratch, which is what keeps them off the sofa.

How does it fix to the wall, and what weight will it take?

It mounts to the wall with the included screws through the holes in the wall plate. Into brick or block, use standard wall plugs. Into plasterboard, screw into a stud where you can, or use heavy-duty plasterboard anchors rated to 15kg or more. It is designed for adult cats of around 3 to 6kg; for a heavier cat, fix into a stud or masonry.

How big is the perch?

The round pale pine platform is 23.5cm across and sits at mid height on the column, sized for an adult cat to sit and watch the room.

How do I look after the sisal?

Vacuum loose fibres from the rope now and then and wipe the pine with a barely damp cloth. A few loose strands are normal on a post that is being used well.
