The building block of the range. A short horizontal cylinder, 22.2cm long and 12cm in diameter, wrapped in natural cream sisal rope. A round pale pine disc caps the outer end and a round pale pine wall plate carries the inner end. Buy several, stagger them up a wall to make a climbing route, and every one of them also works as a scratcher.

Fitting and weight guidance
- In the box: the piece, mounting screws and a fitting diagram. Wall plugs for your wall type are not included.
- Solid walls (brick or block): drill 6mm, fit standard wall plugs, drive the included screws through every hole in the wall plate.
- Plasterboard: screw into a timber stud wherever you can (use a stud finder). Where there is no stud behind the fixing, use heavy-duty plasterboard anchors rated to 15kg or more per fixing, such as metal self-drill or toggle anchors.
- Weight: designed for adult domestic cats, typically 3 to 6kg. For cats over 7kg, or for any piece a cat will land on from a jump, fix into a stud or masonry rather than plasterboard alone.
- Use a spirit level, and check every fixing is tight before the first climb.
Will it fit?
- Your wall: check the width along the wall and how far the piece sticks out (under Specifications) against the clear space you have.
- Spacing: about 30cm between steps suits most adult cats; go closer for kittens and older cats.
- Wall type: 6mm plugs for brick or block, a stud or heavy-duty anchors for plasterboard.
- Your cat: designed for adult cats of 3 to 6kg; over 7kg, fix into a stud or masonry.

A route up the wall
Cats climb in stages. Fit several steps staggered up a wall and your cat moves from floor to height in easy hops, using the sisal for grip on the way.
Small enough to fit anywhere
One step takes 22.2cm of wall, so a chimney breast, a stair wall or the narrow gap beside a door all work. Cream sisal and pale pine keep the look plain, which is the Castle Catalogue house style.
Sisal barrel, pine at each end
The cylinder is wrapped in natural cream sisal, so it grips a landing paw and takes a scratch. A round pale pine disc finishes the outer end and a round pale pine plate meets the wall.

Made to live with, not just look at.
Every piece in the Castle Catalogue range is chosen for how it behaves in a real room. Honest materials, quiet colour and shapes that still work when the seasons change.
We keep the range tight on purpose, so you are choosing between a few good options rather than scrolling through thousands.
Frequently Asked Questions
How big is one step?
The cylinder is 22.2cm long and 12cm in diameter, sized for an adult cat to land on and push off again. A round pine disc closes the outer end.
How many do I need?
Most owners use several. Staggered up a wall at hopping distance they form a climbing route, and each one still works on its own as a scratcher.
How does it fix to the wall, and what weight will it take?
It mounts to the wall with the included screws through the holes in the wall plate. Into brick or block, use standard wall plugs. Into plasterboard, screw into a stud where you can, or use heavy-duty plasterboard anchors rated to 15kg or more. It is designed for adult cats of around 3 to 6kg; for a heavier cat, fix into a stud or masonry.
How does it fix to the wall?
The round pale pine wall plate mounts with the included screws. Fix into a stud where you can, or use wall plugs suited to your wall type.
Can my cat scratch it as well as climb it?
Yes. The sisal wrap is the same surface cats choose for scratching, so every step doubles as a scratcher at whatever height you fit it.
