The widest lounging piece in the range. A broad crescent-shaped pale pine shell, 50cm wide, 25cm deep and 17cm high, curved evenly at both ends so it cradles a cat's spine instead of leaving it flat. The inner curve is lined with a soft grey felt cushion pad. A curved pale pine wall block and two matte black metal L brackets carry the shell from underneath.

Fitting and weight guidance
  • In the box: the piece, mounting screws and a fitting diagram. Wall plugs for your wall type are not included.
  • Solid walls (brick or block): drill 6mm, fit standard wall plugs, drive the included screws through every hole in the wall plate.
  • Plasterboard: screw into a timber stud wherever you can (use a stud finder). Where there is no stud behind the fixing, use heavy-duty plasterboard anchors rated to 15kg or more per fixing, such as metal self-drill or toggle anchors.
  • Weight: designed for adult domestic cats, typically 3 to 6kg. For cats over 7kg, or for any piece a cat will land on from a jump, fix into a stud or masonry rather than plasterboard alone.
  • Use a spirit level, and check every fixing is tight before the first climb.
Will it fit?
  • Your wall: check the width along the wall and how far the piece sticks out (under Specifications) against the clear space you have.
  • Spacing: about 30cm between steps suits most adult cats; go closer for kittens and older cats.
  • Wall type: 6mm plugs for brick or block, a stud or heavy-duty anchors for plasterboard.
  • Your cat: designed for adult cats of 3 to 6kg; over 7kg, fix into a stud or masonry.

Curved Cat Wall Cradle 50cm - in use

A curve they settle into

A flat perch makes a cat hold its own shape. This 50cm crescent curves under the spine instead, with a soft grey felt pad taking the weight.

Curved Cat Wall Cradle 50cm - in the home

Grey felt against pale pine

The palette is deliberately quiet, soft grey felt against pale natural pine, with two small matte black hooks as the only hardware on show. It reads as a wall fitting first and a cat bed second, which is what Castle Catalogue is for.

Shell, pad and bracket

The shell is pale pine, shaped as a broad crescent 25cm deep and 17cm high. A pale pine wall bracket carries it from underneath on two small matte black metal hooks.

Frequently Asked Questions

How big is it?

The shell is 50cm wide, 25cm deep and 17cm high. It is the widest lounging piece in the range, with room for an adult cat to stretch out along the curve.

What is the cushion made from?

A soft grey felt pad lining the inner curve of the pine shell, so your cat rests on felt rather than on bare timber.

How does it fix to the wall, and what weight will it take?

It mounts to the wall with the included screws through the holes in the wall plate. Into brick or block, use standard wall plugs. Into plasterboard, screw into a stud where you can, or use heavy-duty plasterboard anchors rated to 15kg or more. It is designed for adult cats of around 3 to 6kg; for a heavier cat, fix into a stud or masonry.

Why is it curved?

The crescent follows the line of a cat's back, so it cradles the spine rather than leaving the cat flat on a board. Cats tend to settle for longer as a result.

How do I keep it clean?

Lift fur off the grey felt with a damp cloth or a lint brush. Wipe the pale pine with a barely damp cloth and dry it off.
