A hammock rather than a shelf, so it takes the shape of the cat. A black and white striped cotton sling is slung across a round pale pine back disc about 32cm across, held between two horizontal pale pine rails. The lower rail projects 34cm from the wall to hold the sling open, and the piece measures 38.5cm wide and 19cm high overall. The stripe is the one graphic note in an otherwise plain range.

Fitting and weight guidance
- In the box: the piece, mounting screws and a fitting diagram. Wall plugs for your wall type are not included.
- Solid walls (brick or block): drill 6mm, fit standard wall plugs, drive the included screws through every hole in the wall plate.
- Plasterboard: screw into a timber stud wherever you can (use a stud finder). Where there is no stud behind the fixing, use heavy-duty plasterboard anchors rated to 15kg or more per fixing, such as metal self-drill or toggle anchors.
- Weight: designed for adult domestic cats, typically 3 to 6kg. For cats over 7kg, or for any piece a cat will land on from a jump, fix into a stud or masonry rather than plasterboard alone.
- Use a spirit level, and check every fixing is tight before the first climb.
Will it fit?
- Your wall: check the width along the wall and how far the piece sticks out (under Specifications) against the clear space you have.
- Spacing: about 30cm between steps suits most adult cats; go closer for kittens and older cats.
- Wall type: 6mm plugs for brick or block, a stud or heavy-duty anchors for plasterboard.
- Your cat: designed for adult cats of 3 to 6kg; over 7kg, fix into a stud or masonry.

It gives, so they sink in
A flat shelf holds a cat rigid. The cotton sling dips under the weight and takes the cat's shape, which is why a hammock gets slept in rather than sat on.
The one stripe in a plain range
Everything else here is pale pine and natural sisal, so the black and white cotton is the single graphic note. It works as a small piece of pattern on a plain wall, a Castle Catalogue piece that earns its place visually.
Sling, rails and disc
The striped cotton is slung between two horizontal pale pine rails across a round pale pine back disc about 32cm across. The lower rail projects 34cm to hold the sling open.

Made to live with, not just look at.
Every piece in the Castle Catalogue range is chosen for how it behaves in a real room. Honest materials, quiet colour and shapes that still work when the seasons change.
We keep the range tight on purpose, so you are choosing between a few good options rather than scrolling through thousands.
Frequently Asked Questions
How big is the hammock?
It measures 38.5cm wide and 19cm high overall, on a round pale pine back disc about 32cm across. The lower rail projects 34cm from the wall.
What is the sling made from?
Black and white striped cotton fabric, slung between two horizontal pale pine rails so it gives under the cat.
How does it fix to the wall, and what weight will it take?
It mounts to the wall with the included screws through the holes in the wall plate. Into brick or block, use standard wall plugs. Into plasterboard, screw into a stud where you can, or use heavy-duty plasterboard anchors rated to 15kg or more. It is designed for adult cats of around 3 to 6kg; for a heavier cat, fix into a stud or masonry.
Why a hammock instead of a shelf?
The sling gives, so it takes the cat's shape rather than holding it flat. Cats tend to settle into it for longer sleeps.
Can the cotton be cleaned?
Lift fur off the cotton with a damp cloth or a lint brush and let it dry fully. Wipe the pale pine rails and disc the same way.
