Somewhere to disappear to. This is an enclosed pale pine cat house for the wall, 43.5cm wide, 34.5cm tall and 29.5cm deep, built under a single asymmetric sloped roof panel covered in grey felt fabric. The doorway is cut into the front face as a large rounded cat head with two pointed ears, with a small paw print cut out beside it. A flat pale pine landing ledge projects at the base as the step in.

Fitting and weight guidance
  • In the box: the piece, mounting screws and a fitting diagram. Wall plugs for your wall type are not included.
  • Solid walls (brick or block): drill 6mm, fit standard wall plugs, drive the included screws through every hole in the wall plate.
  • Plasterboard: screw into a timber stud wherever you can (use a stud finder). Where there is no stud behind the fixing, use heavy-duty plasterboard anchors rated to 15kg or more per fixing, such as metal self-drill or toggle anchors.
  • Weight: designed for adult domestic cats, typically 3 to 6kg. For cats over 7kg, or for any piece a cat will land on from a jump, fix into a stud or masonry rather than plasterboard alone.
  • Use a spirit level, and check every fixing is tight before the first climb.
Will it fit?
  • Your wall: check the width along the wall and how far the piece sticks out (under Specifications) against the clear space you have.
  • Spacing: about 30cm between steps suits most adult cats; go closer for kittens and older cats.
  • Wall type: 6mm plugs for brick or block, a stud or heavy-duty anchors for plasterboard.
  • Your cat: designed for adult cats of 3 to 6kg; over 7kg, fix into a stud or masonry.

Cat Wall House with Sloped Roof - in use

The retreat, not the lookout

Some cats want to watch a room, others want to vanish from it. The enclosed pine box, 29.5cm deep, gives a nervous cat four sides and a roof, with the landing ledge as the step in.

Cat Wall House with Sloped Roof - in the home

The most furniture-like piece on the wall

Pale pine under a grey felt roof looks like a considered object rather than a pet product, which is the point of the Castle Catalogue range. The asymmetric slope keeps it from reading as a plain box.

Cat Wall House with Sloped Roof - material detail

Cut into the timber, not stuck on

The cat head doorway and the small paw print are cut straight into the pine front face, so the detail is part of the wood. The sloping roof panel is covered in grey felt, a soft contrast against the pale pine.

Castle Catalogue cat wall furniture in a warm Scandinavian living room

Made to live with, not just look at.

Every piece in the Castle Catalogue range is chosen for how it behaves in a real room. Honest materials, quiet colour and shapes that still work when the seasons change.

We keep the range tight on purpose, so you are choosing between a few good options rather than scrolling through thousands.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much wall does it take up?

43.5cm wide and 34.5cm tall, projecting 29.5cm from the wall. That depth is what makes the inside genuinely usable for an adult cat.

What is it made from?

Pale pine for the body, the cut doorway and the landing ledge, with grey felt fabric covering the sloped roof panel.

How does it fix to the wall, and what weight will it take?

It mounts to the wall with the included screws through the holes in the wall plate. Into brick or block, use standard wall plugs. Into plasterboard, screw into a stud where you can, or use heavy-duty plasterboard anchors rated to 15kg or more. It is designed for adult cats of around 3 to 6kg; for a heavier cat, fix into a stud or masonry.

Will a shy cat use it?

Enclosure is exactly what shy cats look for. Four sides, a roof and a single doorway give a cat a den to retreat into rather than a surface it has to share.

How do I clean it?

Wipe the pine inside and out with a barely damp cloth and dry it off. Brush the grey felt roof to lift dust and hair.
